Ridgeline has been in business in North Idaho since 2004. The company is composed of construction professionals from all over the country who have chosen to live and build in beautiful North Idaho. We have spent considerable amount of time and energy finding and hiring the best and most capable employees, the very best sub-contractors and forging relationships with banks, suppliers and our title company, all to ensure that as a Ridgeline customer, you receive the very best service and construction in the industry.

Joel Doherty: Joel moved to Coeur d’Alene in 2004 and is the owner and founder of Ridgeline. Joel has been happily married for 15 years and has 4 adorable kids who you will probably meet at one time or another on your jobsite. Joel grew up in construction doing both residential construction as well as commercial offices and aviation hangers. The aviation hangers got Joel interested in flying and he briefly left construction and became a pilot and worked in corporate aviation in the US and Europe for about five years. All the traveling became too much as the kids increased and Joel was persuaded to leave aviation and return to construction. Joel enjoys fishing and bird hunting and when he’s not designing or preparing projects for Ridgeline, he can be found camping with his family on the Saint Joe or up on the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene. Joel and Jake (see below) went to Africa in April of 2009 as teachers for Far Reaching Ministries.

Jacob Huling: Jake is a native of North Idaho, having been born and raised in Priest River, Idaho. Jake owned and operated a successful siding company before deciding that his real passion in construction was working directly with customers to design and implement their dreams. Jake is happily married and enjoys bird hunting and fishing as well as building and flying model RC aircraft. Jake also enjoys kayaking with his beautiful bride and both of them enjoy working with their lab Jet, who seems to learn a new trick or skill every week. Jake and Joel (see above) went to Africa in April of 2009 as teachers for Far Reaching Ministries.

Mark Landberg: Mark moved to North Idaho from the East Coast 20 years ago and has been working here in the construction industry ever since. Mark worked for most of those years as a sales rep for Coeur d’Alene Builders Supply and got to be on and around more construction sites than any one builder could manage. He brings considerable insight and experience to the Ridgeline team and he, like Jake, has a passion for helping customers navigate what can be a daunting and difficult task if you’ve never done it before. Mark is happily married and has a grown son who stops by Ridgeline when we can pull him away from his college life. Mark loves to hunt and fish and mastered the difficult task of talking to customers on the cell phone with one hand while simultaneously casting with a fishing rod in the other hand.

DJ Welch: DJ moved to North Idaho when he was just 16 years old and has been in the construction industry ever since. He has extensive experience in both residential and commercial construction. DJ left North Idaho for a brief stint working large construction projects in Alaska. DJ runs Ridgeline’s commercial division. He is happily married with two children and enjoys snowboarding and winter sports with his family when he’s not hard at work on another Ridgeline project.

Sarah Thomas: Sarah brings a much appreciated female touch to the Ridgeline team as Ridgeline’s finishing specialist. Sarah works hard directly with customers to help navigate the often overwhelming task of choosing all of the finishes that are required for any significant construction project. Sarah makes the process simple and enjoyable and ensures that all of your choices work as you intended to bring you the project you’ve been dreaming about. Sarah is a north Idaho native, having been born and raised in Bonners Ferry. She loves to hunt and fish and has more big game to her credit than some of the guys on the Ridgeline team.

Chuck Carlson: Chuck has been building in North Idaho for 30 years and for numerous quality builders. Chuck was persuaded that he could put his considerable talents into being a foreman for Ridgeline and once he came on board, the decision was applauded by inspectors and sub-contractors alike. The most common comment we got after Chuck joined the Ridgeline team was “How did you get someone of Chuck’s caliber to come settle down as a foreman for you?” The answer, of course, is that Chuck saw the difference at Ridgeline and wanted to put his abilities and craftsmanship into a company that really was different and really cared about its customers. Chuck enjoys hunting and fishing and his happily married with two (mostly) grown children.
